Does your cleaning company’s Google service area match where you work?

A short owner check for the address and service-area details customers see on your Google Business Profile.

Residential cleaners usually travel to customers. Google lists cleaning services as an example of a service-area business. If customers never visit your business address, Google says to remove that address from the public profile and show the areas you serve.

The profile itself is free. This guide helps you compare the public listing with the way your business actually operates; it does not promise a search position or new bookings.

  1. 01

    Decide how customers reach you

If your team travels to homes and customers do not visit your business address, Google treats you as a service-area business. If you also serve customers at a signed storefront, you may be a hybrid business.

  2. 02

Check whether your address should show

A service-area cleaning company that does not receive customers at its address should remove that address from the public profile. Keep your actual business information accurate in the account.

  3. 03

    List places you really serve

Use cities, postal codes, or other supported areas. Google allows up to 20 service areas, does not use a radius setting for new edits, and says the overall boundary should be within about two hours of driving from your base.

  4. 04

Compare the list with your current work

Remove places where you no longer take jobs. Add only places where you can actually provide residential cleaning. Check your website and booking form for the same coverage.

  5. 05

Check the public result after saving

Google says approved service-area edits may take up to 48 hours to appear. Recheck the public profile and note whether the change is live, pending, or rejected.
